Artist Statement

Souro is one of the oldest coastal areas of Bandar Abbas and one of the last remaining beaches in the city where the shore still keeps its older rhythm. Without a street cutting directly along the beach, the place holds a slower relationship between people, sea, and neighborhood life. Children play, families gather, adults rest, and small stories appear and disappear across the edge of the water.

Made with a mobile phone, Sorou Series is built from direct observation rather than staging. The mobile phone allowed the photographer to move quietly, respond quickly, and keep the scenes close to their natural flow. The project reads like fragments of a film: brief encounters, gestures, light, weather, and memory. It is a record of a public place, but also of the emotional texture of a city seen through its oldest beach.
